JRE LAN10G-USB 2 overview
Some DUT setups pair fast copper Ethernet with a USB service connection that does not need SuperSpeed. I use the JRE LAN10G-USB 2 to put those exact paths together while preserving one plate position for other interfaces.
- Independent 10GBASE-T RJ-45 and USB 2.0 Type-A paths in one housing
- Ethernet differential data passes unfiltered while common-mode RF interference is filtered out
- Ethernet section supports 10GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T, and 2.5GBASE-T with PoE pass-through
- Ethernet isolation reaches 80 dB from 50 MHz to over 6 GHz
- USB low-pass section carries USB 1.1 and 2.0 data up to 480 Mbps
- USB data lines exceed 80 dB rejection from 1 GHz through 6 GHz
- USB power lines exceed 80 dB rejection from 400 MHz through 6 GHz
- Two 1 meter M-M jumpers included; 3.2" x 3.2" x 0.8" housing; $880.00
This combination fits when Ethernet must be 10GBASE-T but USB stays at the lower speed tier. I would move to the LAN10G-USB 3 when the USB device requires SuperSpeed. Equipment using SFP+ or fiber-based Ethernet belongs on a fiber pass-through, not this RJ-45 interface.
Which USB filter do I need? The USB 2-1 is a low-pass filter, the right pick at USB 2.0 speeds. The USB 3-1 uses signal phasing for USB 3 SuperSpeed. The USB C-1 puts that same architecture on a USB-C connector. This LAN10G-USB 2 pairs the USB 2.0 path with 10GBASE-T Ethernet.
