WGF-6 overview
For microwave-range fiber I/O, I use a portal that preserves shielding without forcing the lab to reterminate cables. The WGF-6 carries finished fibers through the wall with no ohmic connection, then closes the machined insert around them.
- Pass-through capacity for up to 6 fiber optic cables with connectors attached
- Allen screw and removable machined center insert for loading the cable bundle
- Greater than 130 dB shielding isolation to 18 GHz
- 60 dB shielding isolation at 28 GHz for higher-frequency enclosure work
- Fiber-only portal with no conductive path across the shielding barrier
- Center insert reinstalls around the loaded fibers to restore the machined opening
Conductive wire through this opening severely degrades enclosure isolation, so this is not a general cable gland. The WGF-6 is $395.00 and earns its place when the test reaches beyond the JRE FPT's operating range. For lower-frequency fiber work, the JRE FPT is the lower-cost path; for microwave coverage, keep the WGF-6.
